I was driving through West LA and stopped for a red light when a U.S. Post Office Mail Carriere lost her mail due to a very strong gust of wind. The light turned green and the traffic just kept moving. I said to myself - "this is crazy, she can't pick up all that mail safely or at all in this traffic".
I pulled over and parked in a Red Zone. I then walked out with her and stopped traffic for a moment and helped her collect all her mail while drivers waited. This made my day. I took a chance with the Red Zone and that's just who I am.
Sometimes, I wonder what I would do in a moments notice and this is just one more reminder that resilience spills over into everything we touch, say and do.
Pieces of April performed by Three Dog Night is a song that matches my reflection of relationships that produced joy I once thought I could never imagine.
I chose not to write about them online even though the memories are beyond unforgettable. A few of these relationships have passed on so maybe later. This song fits this month and is not about my love story with April in the 80s. It's about the process of healing for me. Music has helped me so much. It's a catharsis.
I grew up with the music of Three Dog Night and saw them live several times. I learned a lot during that period and the experience would later open new doors and inspire me to create a new and exciting life.
I just hope you have the greatest day you could ever have. If you don't celebrate this Holiday then make sure your friends and loved ones are thankful for who you are and celebrate your wonderful life and the beautiful person that you are.
To Facebook friends: The reunions have been very exciting and I never thought in a million years I would reconnect with some of you. I'm thankful for that.
